Because my professional
training included a concentration in child and family therapy,
an awareness of the evolving legacy we carry forward from our
families is woven through my work, whether with individuals, couples
or children.
I have over 20 years experience assisting people with relationships,
trauma and loss, depression, anxiety, blocks to creativity and
self-expression. My work with children and families includes extensive
experience with divorce, parenting training, behavioral and emotional
concerns, and abuse.
From
2000 through 2004, I provided psychosocial assessments for children in long term
foster care through the Foster Care Assessment Program, a statewide program that
provides consultation to WA State Children's Administration social workers. I
contract with Brigid Collins to provide treatment for children who have been sexually
abused.
I received training in Advanced Integrative Energy Psychotherapy
from Asha Clinton, MA, PhD in 2001. This is part of a promising,
innovative modality of therapy that is developing out of applied
kinesiology and acupressure. It assists in clearing trauma and
negative beliefs directly from the energy system, greatly facilitating
the healing process.
I have been actively involved in spiritual practice and retreat
for 30 years, and have a great love for, and experience with,
the role of nature in spiritual practice. This informs my work,
whether or not spiritual and religious beliefs are directly part
of treatment. I appreciate the vast diversity of religious/ spiritual
practices, and rich cultural heritage, found in this community.
I am always seeking to deepen my understanding. I am a mother,
a gardener, and a lover of music.
